In recent months, multiple reports have been suggesting that the upcoming flagship Exynos SoC will be more efficient than its Snapdragon counterpart. Now, a new report claims that the Galaxy S25 series will be powered by a 3nm Exynos chipset.

According to the source, the 3nm chip would be the Exynos 2500. Samsung may implement this SoC in the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+. Some reports last year suggested that the company would begin using a “one chipset” strategy. That is, future devices in the Galaxy S series would be powered by either Exynos or Snapdragon in all markets. However, this possibility has lost strength over time.

3nm Exynos chipset for Galaxy S25 reportedly more efficient than Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

The Exynos 2500 chipset would be present in the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ that will arrive for most markets in the world. Meanwhile, the versions heading to the US and some other regions would be powered by the future Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. On the other hand, the Galaxy S25 Ultra would continue to mount Qualcomm’s next flagship SoC worldwide.

Business Korea also insists that “industry analysts” predict that the Exynos 2500 will be more energy efficient than its Snapdragon counterpart. This would be a great milestone in the recent history of Exynos chipsets. After all, the company has been lagging behind Qualcomm for many years, especially in this section. Fortunately, the Exynos 2400 (4nm) of the Galaxy S24 series has already brought notable improvements to this section.

The Galaxy Watch S7 series may bring the first 3nm Samsung chipset

According to leaks, Qualcomm will also make the leap to 3nm this year. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset is said to be manufactured on TSMC’s 3nm process. Mediatek also plans to launch 3nm flagship chipsets manufactured by TSMC. Interestingly, Samsung’s first product powered by a 3nm chipset won’t be a phone. More specifically, they would be the Galaxy Watch S7 series devices that will arrive this year.
