Samsung is nearing the launch of its 2023 premium mid-range smartphones. The company is expected to unveil the Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G as early as next month. Both handsets have been subject to plenty of leaks over the past few months. Now, as the rumored launch draws closer, they are appearing in official capacities as well. Samsung recently added support pages for them on its website, while we have also seen one or both phones in some certification listings. Most recently, the Galaxy A54 5G was spotted on the Google Play Console.

Galaxy A54 5G appears on the Google Play Console website

Spotted by MySmartPrice, the Google Play Console listing for the Galaxy A54 5G confirms some of its rumored specs. We can see that the device packs a Samsung processor identified as “S5E8835”. That’s none other than the Exynos 1380 that the Korean firm launched a few days back. The chipset features four ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It gets a Mali-G68 MP5 GPU operating at a maximum frequency of 950MHz along with an integrated NPU that offers up to 4.9 trillion operations per second (TOPS).

Google Play Console also revealed that the Galaxy A54 5G will come in a 6GB RAM variant. That’s contrary to earlier rumors that Samsung will offer the phone with only 8GB of RAM globally. Maybe it’s a regional thing, we will have to wait and see. Most markets should get 128GB and 256GB storage options, though. The device will also feature a microSD card slot should you need more storage space. You will be able to externally add up to 1TB of storage capacity to the phone, which is a lot.

This listing confirmed the presence of a Full HD+ resolution (1080×2340 pixels) display on the Galaxy A54 5G, with a 450DPI pixel density. We are looking at a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel here, with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. Last but not least, Google Play Console tells us the phone will boot Android 13 from day one. We expect Samsung to ship the device with One UI 5.1 out of the box. The latest iteration of its custom Android software debuted with the Galaxy S23 series and recently rolled out to other Galaxy models.

The new Samsung mid-ranger can capture 4K videos

While Google Play Console doesn’t give us any other notable information about the Galaxy A5 5G, earlier leaks have revealed that Samsung will equip the phone with a 50MP primary rear camera. It is flanked by a 12MP ultrawide lens and 5MP macro camera on the back, and a 32MP selfie shooter. The handset will boast OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and can record 4K videos.

Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, an under-display fingerprint scanner, an IP67 rating, and stereo speakers are part of the package. The whole setup is fueled by a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. Stay tuned for the official launch in a few weeks.
