A well-known Chinese OEM plans to announce its new flagship smartphone on March 7. ZTE is the company in question, it will launch this phone as part of its ‘Nubia’ line, and it will not only be bezel-less, but will also include an under-display camera.

ZTE is planning to announce a bezel-less flagship with under-display camera soon

That phone’s name is the Nubia Z50 Ultra, and we already have some images of the phone. Now, the renders shared by companies tend to be exaggerated at times, from some companies at least. This phone could actually have such thin bezels.

A well-known tipster, Ice Universe, seems to either have more info or the phone itself, based on his latest tweet. He claims that the device does look very sci-fi, while he more or less corroborated what we’ve seen in ZTE’s marketing materials. On top of that, a real-life image of the device surfaced not long ago.

If you take a look at the gallery below, you’ll see some images of the device. We still don’t know what will its back side look like, but the front side is what grabs the attention. This will be a large, free canvas for you to use. It won’t have camera holes, bezels, or notches to get in the way.

It will include a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC

What else do we know thus far? Well, we know that the phone will feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED display. We also know that a 16-megapixel camera will be included, with a 6P lens, f/2.0 aperture, and a 2.24um pixel size.

What’s also interesting is that this phone will include an alert slider. It will be placed at the top of the right side of the phone, above the power key and the volume rocker buttons.

Now, we do expect this handset to be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. ZTE will likely also use other high-end specs on the inside, such as the LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage.

This phone likely won’t make its way out of China, though, unfortunately. ZTE doesn’t really offer its Nubia lineup outside of its homeland.
