YouTube Music is working on a new “Forgotten favorites” shelf that lets users throwback to their past listens.

YouTube Music has been through many changes recently, and Google is trying to gain a share in the music streaming market. Competing with Spotify is a good incentive for Google to update YouTube Music constantly. But a Reddit user has spotted a new section on the YouTube Music app that paves the way for listening to a previously-listened song.

YouTube Music Forgotten Favorites

This could be a really practical feature for users who want to have a flashback to their old songs. Sometimes you listen to a lovely song and then totally forget it without adding it to your playlist. The “Forgotten favorites” provide a hassle-free way of accessing these kinds of songs.

The “Forgotten favorites” is a new section that is in the development phase and may come to YouTube Music in the coming months. The feature encompasses both albums and songs. By the way, it would be a handy feature to throw you into the memories of the past.

YouTube Music currently offers a “Your favorites” section at the top of the Home feed. We still don’t know if “Forgotten favorites” would be a replacement for “Your favorites” or if they’ll both stay on the platform.

YouTube Music tweaks carousels on its web client

The new carousels are another changes that are spotted on the YouTube Music web client (music.youtube.com). As you can see in the screenshots, the arrows are now placed at the top-right corner instead of the left and right ends. The new arrows also have a new design to accompany the modern design style of the YouTube Music web version. Moreover, scrolling carousels with trackpad gestures is now possible.

YouTube Music has also started launching its Spring Recap ’22 campaign. It has been available to most users in recent weeks. The campaign would let you access a selection of the best songs of Spring.
