Summary: YouTube has launched a new Music Assistant AI tool for creators. It is an enhanced version of the Dream Tracks feature that the company introduced nearly a year ago. The new functionality lets you generate background music for long YouTube videos completely free.
YouTube has expanded the range of its generative AI tools with the launch of Music Assistant. The Alphabet-owned platform’s new feature allows creators to generate royalty-free custom instrumental tracks for long-form videos using simple text prompts. The video-sharing platform has integrated the new feature into the Creator Music marketplace.
Now you can generate background music for your YouTube videos for free
YouTube’s latest Music Assistant AI tool aims to simplify the process of generating high-quality background music for long-form videos. You can describe the type of music you need the AI tool to create using simple text prompts. You can specify details such as instruments, mood, and the type of video for which you will use the music.
Based on your inputs, the AI tool generates a handful of music options. You can download and use them in your YouTube videos without worrying about copyright claims. For example, if you are a creator, you can request “peaceful music to concentrate while studying,” or “suggest happy mood songs with good beats.” The AI will generate a handful of tracks to choose from. All of these options are completely free to use.
YouTube’s new AI Music Assistant builds upon the AI-powered Dream Tracks feature, which the company started experimenting with roughly a year ago. While Dream Tracks focused on creating music for short video clips, the new functionality aims to produce background music for long-form YouTube videos.
This feature is currently available only to those users who have access to Creator Music (Beta) YouTube Studio.
YouTube is also testing a new feature for short-form video creators
Besides AI Music Assistant, YouTube is also testing a new feature for the creators who primarily focus on uploading short-form videos. The new functionality can automatically synchronize your short content with the music you select to add to it. Furthermore, you’ll now also have an option to automatically create a short video synced to music with the photos you’ve selected from your phone’s gallery.
YouTube is currently allowing a small group of creators to test out the new experimental auto music-syncing feature for short-form videos. The company plans to launch the feature to all creators in the future.
