YouTube is reportedly working on a dedicated “Listen with YouTube Music” button, xda-developers reports. The feature was available on the platform before. However, it was removed for some unknown reasons, and now it’s coming back.
The feature is found on the latest APK of YouTube for Android (version 17.05.33_beta). The xda-developers says that it has found a “Listen with YouTube Music” button in the code.
This feature could be a bridge between YouTube & YouTube Music
This feature is a kind of bridge between YouTube and YouTube Music. For example, after watching a music video on YouTube, you can find the same music in YouTube Music by pressing a dedicated button. Then you can add it to your playlist. Currently, you need to close the YouTube app, open the YouTube Music app, and search for the name of the music video. A completely tedious process.
The feature is still in the testing phase, and we don’t have much more information about it right now. Moreover, YouTube Music Free has recently received a new update that adds background playback. OF course, the latest update ditched some other features, including watching videos from the app.
YouTube is developing a bunch of new features
There has been newsworthy in recent months. The platform is seriously working on developing some new cool features. Of course, the company has also shut down some features like YouTube Originals.
In January, we reported that YouTube is testing the ‘Smart Downloads’ feature for videos. The feature will allow users to download 20 videos each week.
But one of the most exciting things about YouTube is that the platform is entering the NFT market. Although the CEO of YouTube has spoken quite conservatively about this, NFT seems to be an attractive market for YouTube. YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki says their goal is to create new revenue streams for creators.
