OnePlus resurrected its smartwatch earlier this year, after a pretty disastrous original OnePlus Watch. It also announced the OnePlus Watch 2R, which was slightly cheaper. Now, it looks like OnePlus is planning to give the Watch a “Pro” treatment. Which would be a surprise, since OnePlus ditched the “Pro” moniker after the OnePlus 10.
According to Android Authority, who did some digging in OnePlus and OPPO’s watch app, OHealth, it appears that OnePlus is working on a Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro. There are also mentions of the OPPO counterparts – Watch X2 and Watch X2 Pro. Surprisingly, there are mentions of two OPPO Watch X2 models including a 46mm, while the OnePlus Watch 3 is only mentioned once.
OnePlus Watch 3 series likely coming at MWC
This year, OnePlus announced the Watch 2 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. We’re likely going to see the same sort of release schedule in 2025. During CES, OnePlus has already confirmed that it is announcing the OnePlus 13 and 13R, so it’s unlikely that we will see any wearables at this winter event on January 7. Not to mention the fact we’ve seen very little details on the OnePlus Watch 3 and 3 Pro.
Recent rumors are pointing towards OPPO releasing its Find N5 foldable in the first quarter of the year, and that it would be released at the same time as its OnePlus counterpart – Open 2. That means the OnePlus Watch 3 series could launch alongside the Open 2. For the Watch 2, OnePlus announced it alongside the Genshin Impact version of the OnePlus 12R, and the Watch 2R was announced alongside the new OnePlus Pad 2.
Of course, we’re still a ways out from getting an official OnePlus Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro. So don’t count on one launching at CES. The earliest we could see this launching is likely at MWC which will be at the end of February.
