2022 had a lot of smash-hit apps and games on the Google Play store. And, now it’s time to put them to a vote! Google now lets users vote on the best Android app and game of 2022, and there are a lot of great nominees so far.
Google started giving end-of-the-year awards to the best apps and games a few years back, and it’s been a staple for the brand ever since. There’s one app and game that will be crowned the User’s Choice, and that’s where you come in. You can start voting on which one you think should win the award.
The best Android app 2022 is being put to a vote
Let’s start off with the nominees for the best Android app of 2022. Right now, there are nine nominees. There’s BeReal, Breathwrk: Breathing Exercises, Daily Diary: Journal With Lock, Dancefitme: Fun Weight Loss, Dream by WOMBO- AI art tool, noteit Widget, Pic Collage, Sleep Tracker, and Ukulele by Yousician.
Of these apps, BeReal seems to have made the biggest splash. It’s an app that challenges you to take a selfie of yourself at the drop of a hat wherever you are. It’s thought of as the antithesis of Instagram, and it even got that app along with TikTok to emulate it.
And, here are the games
As with the previous category, there are nine nominees. We have Apex Legends Mobile, Diablo Immortal, Distyle, Guns & Dungeons, Kingdom Maker, MY HERO ULTIMATE IMPACT, Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds, Rocket League Sideswipe, and Tower Of Fantasy.
Despite the massive controversy, Diablo Immortal was able to remain at the top of the charts for a bit of time. It also remained one of the top-grossing games on the Google Play Store for a while. The monetization may be controversial, but the gameplay, music, story, voice acting, etc are all great.
Rocket League Sideswipe, though it was released in 2021, was able to make it onto this list. It’s a 2.5D version of the original PC/console smash hit. You face off against other players on a 2D playing field. Despite being so different from the original game, it’s still a lot of fun.
Tower Of Fantasy also made a big splash this year. We can’t deny that it took a lot of inspiration from Genshin Impact. However, it managed to bring its own unique style of gameplay and aesthetic to players.
