How many times have you stumbled upon a TikTok video containing a clip from a movie, and you wondered what movie is it coming from? Browsing through comments usually helps, but not always. Plus it’s time-consuming. Well, you’ll be glad to know that you can now tag movies and TV shows on TikTok.

TikTok users in the US & the UK can now tag movies & TV shows in their videos

This gives creators an easy way to share all the details consumers may be interested in. TikTok made this possible for users in the US and the UK only, though, unfortunately. Up to five tags can be included in a single video.

TikTok partnered up with IMDb in order to make this happen. Each tag will point to an in-app page that will include details from a specific movie or TV show. In addition to that, it will show you some related videos too.

IMDb provides info including cast members, directors, genres, release dates, runtimes, and user ratings for each movie and TV show. TikTok users can add movies and TV shows to the favorites tab as well, if they want.

Tagging a movie or TV show is fairly simple, and the info is provided by IMDb

How does this work for creators? Well, they can add a movie or TV show by tapping the “add link” option. They can do this right before they post a video. There are over 12 million titles available from IMDb, so finding what you are looking for should be fairly simple.

I, personally, have stumbled upon quite a few clips from movies and TV shows that I didn’t recognize. I was usually able to get the answers from the comments, but it took me quite some time to find a legit answer, at times. This new feature will definitely help out.

Usually, you’ll see plenty of “what is this from?” comments for such TikToks, or something similar to that. Well, that should not be the case this time around. It’s just a shame this feature has been added for TikTok users in the US and the UK only. The tagged movies and TV shows should be visible to everyone, though, but only users in the US and the UK can actually tag them.
