The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is coming, and it seems like it could offer a new camera sensor from Sony. This information comes from Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster. He also shared two images showing the rear design of the phone.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra may include a new camera sensor from Sony
It is said that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will include Sony’s IMX8xx camera sensor. We’re still not sure which one, nor did any additional details surface. Previous rumors suggested a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel 5x telephoto unit, and a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera.
The Xiaomi 12 series didn’t even launch globally yet, though it will on March 15. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will likely launch at a later date, though. Xiaomi may surprise us and launch it alongside the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro globally, though, we’ll see.
In any case, if you take a look at the images below, you’ll see the alleged back side of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The device will look considerably different than the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro.
The device will include a huge circular camera island
As you can see, it will feature a huge circular camera island on the back. Quite a few cameras will be included there. We can see four of them, and there’s a chance for the fifth on the right.
That automatically means that the camera info we’ve mentioned earlier doesn’t fit, as there will be at least four cameras on the back of this phone. All of that presuming this leak is accurate, of course.
The camera island on the back will protrude quite a bit. You can also see some generic cases for the phone here, we’re presuming these are third-party cases.
Two Xiaomi 12 Ultra color options are shown here, black and white models. The Xiaomi branding is visible on the back of each device, while you’ll notice that the phone is curved on both sides.
The back panel curves into the frame, and the front side is also curved, suggesting the device will feature a curved display.
