Paramount Pictures has just released the official trailer for The Lost City, where we meet our unlikely action hero, romance novelist Loretta (Sandra Bullock). With more than just a little persuasion from powerful and extremely wealthy Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe), she is thrown into a dangerous adventure to help our Bond villianesque Fairfax find The Lost City the romance novelist has been writing about. Don’t sweat it though! She’s got her own book cover model, Alan, aka Dash to fans of the book series (Channing Tatum), in tow to navigate and save the day. And if he can’t do it, our Crocodile Dundee type (Brad Pitt) is ready to step in and take care of business!
The official synopsis reads: “Brilliant, but reclusive author Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) has spent her career writing about exotic places in her popular romance-adventure novels featuring handsome cover model Alan (Channing Tatum), who has dedicated his life to embodying the hero character, “Dash.” While on tour promoting her new book with Alan, Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) who hopes that she can lead him to the ancient lost city’s treasure from her latest story. Wanting to prove that he can be a hero in real life and not just on the pages of her books, Alan sets off to rescue her. Thrust into an epic jungle adventure, the unlikely pair will need to work together to survive the elements and find the ancient treasure before it’s lost forever.”
Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum and Daniel Radcliffe got together to introduce their new film, and it’s great! Channing took to Instagram to share, with the caption: “Those leeches on my butt? They’re real. Others might’ve used fake leeches, but I will always commit to the role. #TheLostCity”
“Ommggg hahaha this looks so amazing, ” says Cole. “I’m soooo freakin’ seeing this it looks epic hilarious, ” says a chic, caffeinated mama. “OMG this movie is calling MY name. Yo yo yo I will be in the theatre when this comes out!” exclaims another. Yo yo yo!, so will I!
Along with the biggest names in Hollywood, we have Oscar Nuñez (The Office, The Proposal), Patti Harrison (Adventure Time: Distant Lands, Bob’s Burgers) and Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Dolemite is My Name, The Guilty) bringing the comedy. The action comedy was written and directed by Aaron Nee.
If you just can’t wait to have the exotic adventure with a novelist being swept into an adventure, paired with an ill-prepared hero, being persued by an unlikely villian, with all parties in search of a priceless treasure, I highly recommend Romancing the Stone. If you squint your eyes, Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas take up the roles of our protagonists, and if you squinch your eyes even harder Danny DeVito turns into our villian Daniel Radcliffe! Now if they do a music video with Billy Ocean, my mind will be officially blown.
We know Tatum has the moves, and Radcliffe has proven he can sing.
The Lost City swings on a vine into theaters March 25.
