Blizzard’s first mobile title in the Warcraft universe, Warcraft Rumble, is now entering a new testing phase with the arrival of a soft launch for the game. Prior to the soft launch, which is going live for players on Android and iOS, it was available only through a closed beta. Which meant you had to have been invited to test it. Not only that, the closed beta was only available in certain regions. So you had to live in the supported regions before you could potentially get an invite.

Things are shaking up over at the Warcraft Rumble development offices, as the soft launch adds new features and more. Blizzard says this will be its next step towards a global release, and allow the team to add a final layer of polish. Basically, the development team wants to ensure that everything is in tip top shape. That the game runs smoothly and everything looks good. You may have also noticed that Blizzard has slightly changed the name. Dropping the ‘Arclight’ portion, as Warcraft Rumble is “shorter and snappier.” There is also one tiny caveat to the soft launch players want to be aware of.

The Warcraft Rumble soft launch is only in the Philippines

Yes, unfortunately the soft launch is not for everyone. Only for players in the Philippines right now. Fear not though, intrepid rumblers. The global release is likely not too far behind. And there’s a lot of new and cool stuff to look forward to. If you haven’t pre-registered yet, you also may want to do that so you know exactly when the game drops.

As for what’s changed (aside from the title of course), Blizzard has added some new features to the game and reworked others. This will give modes and mechanics a fresh feeling and allow for an overall smoother gameplay experience. For starters, there are new zones to play through. Both Darkshore and The Hinterlands have been added. Which means they also come with new maps. Additionally there are two new dungeons – Gnomeregan and the Deadmines. Blizzard has also added Arclight Surge to put a spin on maps you may already be familiar with.

All of these are great new additions to the game. But what about those that want more of a challenge? Blizzard thought of that too. You’ll now be able to engage with Heroic campaigns if you feel like bumping up the difficulty. The game was already good and plenty of fun to play. And it seems like Blizzard has only made it better.
