Summary: Vivo has finally launched the X200 Ultra in China. The latest flagship smartphone packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, features impressive camera specs, and runs Android 15-based Origin OS out of the box.

After months of leaks and rumors, Vivo has officially launched the X200 Ultra in China. The company has been teasing it as a camera paradise for quite some time. Earlier this month, Vivo’s CEO shared a few camera samples, and now we know what’s behind it.

Vivo has officially launched the X200 Ultra smartphone in China

The Vivo X200 Ultra flaunts a 6.78-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED quad-curved screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The device packs the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC under the hood, featuring two 4.32 GHz prime cores and six 3.53 GHz performance cores. The chipset is paired with the Adreno 830 GPU for handling resource-demanding video games and more.

The Vivo X200 Ultra boots Android 15-based OriginOS 5 out of the box. It’s worth noting that Vivo has confirmed to offer up to four Android updates and five years of security updates for this smartphone. Similar to its younger siblings, the X200 Ultra comes with an IP68 and IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.

Impressive camera specs

While all these specs may be seen on a flagship smartphone from other brands too, Vivo has gone all out with the camera hardware. On the rear, you’ll see a large circular camera module with major upgrades on the inside. The X200 Ultra sports a primary camera that has a 50MP 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT-818 sensor. Not to forget, the new ultrawide camera (14mm, f/2.2) has the same 50MP LYT-818 sensor as the main one.

However, the main highlight of the camera system on the Vivo X200 is the 200MP 3.7x periscope camera (ISOCELL HP9) with a wider f/2.27 aperture. Additionally, the device has two imaging chips: V3+ and VS1. These dedicated chips use AI to process and improve the images by tweaking the colors, background blur, clarity, and more. Vivo has also announced a zoom lens add-on with ZEISS branding (f/2.3, 200mm). If used, it can increase the optical zoom range to 8.7x from 3.7x.

As teased earlier, there’s also a retro-style photography kit. The accessory provides manual controls and a dedicated button to record videos. It also works as a 2,300 mAh power bank so your phone can get some extra juice. Talking of videography, the Vivo X200 Ultra supports 4K recording at 120 fps. Professionals can even record 4K videos at 60 fps and 10-bit log. Not to mention, the device can also capture 8K videos at 30 fps.

Battery, charging, and pricing

The Vivo X200 Ultra packs a 6,000 mAh battery on the inside with support for 100W wired and 30W wireless charging. It’s worth noting that the smartphone also supports reverse wired and wireless charging. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor and offers the Emergency SOS feature.

The base variant of the Vivo X200 Ultra, featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, starts at CNY 6,499. The other two variants, 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB, cost CNY 6,999 and CNY 7999, respectively. Moreover, you can grab the device in three different colors: Black, Red, and a White version with the Rimowa suitcase pattern.
