The Vivo X100 Pro+ camera improvements have just been detailed by a well-known tipster. Some of you may wonder why this early, as the Vivo X90 series seems to be rather new at this point. Well, it’s not, not really, let me explain.

The Vivo X90 series did reach global markets back in February, but it originally launched in China back in November. So, we have to wait until November 2023 for a new model, right? Well, no, not really.

The Vivo X100 series may launch as soon as this month

You see, Vivo has a tendency to release two flagship smartphone series per year. Both the Vivo X80 and X90 series launched in 2022. So, we do expect to see the Vivo X100 and X110 series this year, if the company doesn’t change its release cycle.

By those calculations, the Vivo X100 series is actually expected to arrive this month. The Vivo X80 series launched in China back in April last year. We’ll see if it will happen, however.

Now, this is the very first Vivo X100 Pro+ rumor that we’ve stumbled upon. It comes from Panda is Bald tipster, who is actually a notable Chinese tipster. He shared the info via Weibo, as per usual.

The Vivo X100 Pro+ camera improvements will be quite notable it seems

The Vivo X100 Pro+ will seemingly include a main camera with a variable aperture. If Vivo ends up utilizing the same 1-inch camera sensor as on the Vivo X90 Pro and Pro+, that could be a deadly combination.

Variable aperture has proven to be immensely useful in the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. That is still one of the best and most reliable camera smartphones in the market. If the implementation ends up working that well in the Vivo X100 Pro+ with this huge sensor, that could be interesting.

The tipster also notes that a “super wide-angle” free-form lens will be in use. He’s referring to the ultrawide camera, of course. Some portrait photography improvements were also mentioned.

Its periscope camera should be able to do a better job in low light

What he also mentioned is a periscope telephoto lens that will be able to continuously adapt to light changes. This is very interesting, as it should enable for better results in low light conditions.

The last piece of info that he shared is that the phone will include the Vivo V3 ISP, a chip to help with image processing, basically.
