The Candyman himself, Tony Todd may have just spilt the tea about the release date of the highly anticipated sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Per VGC, the actor, who will voice Venom in the sequel, took to Twitter give fans the inside scoop about the upcoming promotion and release schedule for the highly anticipated video game.

Todd’s tweet is fully in line with the December announcement from Insomniac Games that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would land sometime in fall 2023. But the confirmation of September has caused a stir among eager gamers, who’ve been waiting with bated breath for the next installment of the series since Miles Morales landed in 2020.

Some fans joked that Todd might catch some heat from his bosses about the leak.

Others praised Todd’s dedication and the risks he takes for the Spider-Man fandom.

Many felt protective of Todd and urged the head honchos not to come down too hard on him over the disclosure because of the excitement he generated among Marvel fans.

Other fans expressed their affection and respect for Todd in the simplest of terms.

The first game and its sidequel Miles Morales set a high bar, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the sequel successfully ups the ante and delivers an equally thrilling web-slinging adventure. Either way, Todd is clearly totally confident with how it’s turning out, so we’re ready to find out what’s got him so excited this September.
