A handful of upgrades for the Google Contacts app are reportedly in the works, which will improve the contacts syncing experience. The folks over at Android Authority have found these changes in version 4.37.39 of the app. The teardown of the app has revealed that the Google Contacts syncing experience will be better in the near future.
The next Google Contacts app will simplify the contact syncing experience
As per the report, the upcoming Google Contacts app will simplify contact syncing. There will be a new section inside the settings menu, which will help you easily sync contacts. The update will also bring changes to the contact cards, which will start showing synced Google account details. The source was able to enable both the upcoming features in the aforementioned version of the app.
The new contact syncing section will appear at the bottom of the settings
According to the source, the new contact syncing section will be displayed at the top of the settings. It will show the synced account with the number of synced contacts. The same will also show when the contacts were synced last. There will be a shortcut to access the sync settings. The synced account details will show at the bottom of the contact details page. These details will show in the new section dubbed “Contact info from”.
You will be able to see if it’s from a linked email ID or if it is saved on your device. Essentially, the update will be helpful for managing the contacts, apart from determining their origin. You will also have a new “Report illegal profile contact button. You can use it to report the contact that violates Google’s policies.
The upcoming features will make contact management more efficient. As of now, there’s no word when Google will roll out these features. Also, sometimes some features are just for experimental purposes, so only time will tell.
