Ubisoft+ is one of many different services that allow you access to a number of games from a certain publisher. In this case, Ubisoft games from the likes of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, The Division, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, and more.

If you’re unfamiliar with Ubisoft+ and everything that it offers, don’t worry. This guide is here to help lay out what the service is and what you get with a membership. If you’re familiar with the service but don’t know everything about it that you’d like to, this guide can help fill in any gaps you might have. Whether that be about features, platforms or anything else.

What is Ubisoft+?

Stadia Ubisoft

Ubisoft+ is a subscription service from Ubisoft. With a subscription, you get access to a huge suite of different games to play. Keep in mind these are all Ubisoft titles. So this isn’t like Xbox Game Pass where you can play games from a variety of different studios.

That being said, if you’re a big fan of Ubisoft franchises, then this isn’t a bad service to be subscribed to. Quite the opposite. In fact, if you’re a big fan of Ubisoft games, it might just be the perfect service for you.

What does Ubisoft+ cost?

Ubisoft+ now has two different monthly plans you can choose from, however this only applies to the cost for PC users. Those who access it on PlayStation will have their own associated costs. So we’ll break things down here by platform.

If you’re accessing Ubisoft+ on PC, you will be able to choose from the Ubisoft+ Classics or the Ubisoft+ Premium plans. Which one you should pick will depend on what you want out of the service, as well as what you’re willing to spend. Ubisoft+ Classics will be $7.99 a month, whereas Ubisoft+ Premium will be $17.99 a month. Obviously, this is a big jump in monthly cost. So here’s what you’re looking at with each plan.

Plan differences

Ubisoft+ Classics will give you access to over 50 games from Ubisoft’s back library. You’ll access these through Ubisoft Connect and titles can range from some truly old games to those released in the last five years. For example, Ubisoft Classics has some of the more recent Assassin’s Creed games available. You will also only get access to the Standard Edition of the games in this library. If you don’t mind playing games when they’re a bit older, then this is the best option to go for. It’ll save you $10 a month and you still have a lot of games to play.

If you want access to a lot more content, then you’ll need to upgrade to Ubisoft+ Premium. For $17.99 a month, you get access to over 100 games. This will include new release titles. For example, when Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was released back on January 18, 2024, it was available for Ubisoft+ Premium subscribers right away. In fact, it was available in early access (a few days before the official launch) because Ubisoft+ Premium also comes with the Deluxe Edition of games. The Deluxe Edition also comes with more content, which can include anything from in-game items and currency to special outfits for characters.

Early access will not be available for every game though. Additionally, Ubisoft gives Premium subscribers even more benefits.

Many of Ubisoft’s games will have premium currency packs in them. And while we wouldn’t necessarily encourage people to spend a ton of money on them, sometimes it does enhance the experience. And it’s your money. Spend it on what you want. That being said, if you subscribe to Premium, you get a 10% discount on that stuff. So you at least spend less money. What’s more, you’ll get unique monthly rewards, and Premium also allows you access to games on Xbox and through Amazon Luna. These will be “selected games” though and not the full library like PC users have.

As noted for PlayStation users, the cost for Ubisoft+ Classics is rolled into the PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium plans. So you aren’t paying anything extra for it, as it’s part of those subscription costs. Those plans cost $14.99 a month and $17.99 a month respectively.

What platforms is Ubisoft+ available on?

Amazon Luna Ubisoft

Ubisoft+ is available on PC, and for cloud platforms. It allows you to access all included Ubisoft titles on your PC that runs Windows. You can also access it via Amazon Luna.

Update: May 17, 2022

On May 16, Ubisoft officially confirmed that Ubisoft+ will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox. Additionally, it will be launching Ubisoft+ Classic, which will be bundled with the new PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium plans, containing a collection of classic Ubisoft games with a rotating list of available titles.

Update: December 1, 2022

As of Google’s September 29 announcement that Stadia is shutting down, Ubisoft+ will be available on Stadia until January 18, 2023, when Stadia is taken offline. Luna will then be the only cloud gaming service that offers access to Ubisoft+.

How many games does the service have available?

According to Ubisoft, there are over 100 games available in the service. The studio is constantly adding more to it so the library is always growing. Although, it’s possible that some games may be removed after a time. Just like with Xbox Game Pass.

Also worth noting is that cross-progression is enabled. So, if you have the multiplatform plan, you can play a game on PC, then switch to playing on Luna and pick back up where you left off. This is all thanks to it being tied to Ubisoft Connect.

What games can you play?

You’ll find games from basically all of Ubisoft’s major franchises. Such as Assassin’s Creed, including the most recent title, Assassin’s Creed Mirage. There are also plenty of games from the Tom Clancy franchise. Including, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, The Division 1 & 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and more.

Additionally, all of the Far Cry series is available to play, as are less popular but still mainstream titles like Rayman, Anno, The Settlers, The Crew, and Watch Dogs just to name a few. Since there are over 100 games we aren’t going to list every single title here. But you can find the entire catalog at the Ubisoft+ website.

There will routinely be new releases added as well. The most recent games added to Ubisoft+ were Skull and Bones, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, The Crew: Motorfest, The Settlers: New Allies – Deluxe Edition, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Oddballers, Rayman Fiesta Run and a few more.

Does Ubisoft+ have any special perks?

Ubisoft+ Rewards

Actually, yes. You do get some special rewards with Ubisoft+ based on how long you’re subscribed. With an active subscription, Ubisoft will occasionally throw out rewards to members. You can claim these rewards from the Ubisoft+ website, though you do only have a finite amount of them. So make sure you choose your rewards wisely, as you’ll have to earn more to claim more.

As an example of what to expect, there is currently an Apparel Cache Key Pack for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. And there are rewards for XP boosts, and other useful in-game items. Ubisoft will add more rewards in the future as well. And you can check these at any time in the Upcoming Rewards tab.

You can check current rewards for the month too, and even look back on your history if you want to see any rewards you claimed in the past.

How long do I have to claim rewards?

Rewards can be claimed for a period of one month. Ubisoft will swap the rewards out on the first Tuesday of every month. And any unclaimed rewards will not carry over to the next month. So if you see rewards that you want and you’re able to redeem some, then you’ll need to claim them before the rewards reset.

On the rewards page, you’ll also be able to see how much time you have left to redeem rewards that are available. Next to the time remaining, you can also see how many rewards you have redeemed out of the total made available to you that month.

How do I earn rewards?

You will earn rewards simply by being a Ubisoft+ member. Unlike the process for earning Ucreds. With Ucreds, you can earn them by playing Ubisoft games. Some of that gameplay will earn you extra Ucreds for completing certain tasks in those games. To earn rewards in Ubisoft+, it’s based on a four-tier system. You will start at Bronze the moment you sign up, and get one reward each month to redeem.

You’ll move to Silver once you’ve subscribed for 2 months, Gold at 4 months, and Platinum at 7 months. Each reward tier will give you an additional reward to redeem every month. Maxing out at 4 once you hit Platinum.

How do I play games?

Ubisoft 2

If you’re on PC, then you will need to install them on the PC you’re using. If you’re playing on Luna, then you play through the cloud and stream them. On PC, to install these games you will need the Ubisoft Connect app, which can be downloaded and installed from this link.

Can I play with a controller as well as a keyboard and mouse?

PS5 DualSense Controller 6

That will all depend on where you play games. If you play on PC, then you will be able to use any input methods that PC supports. Which includes both controllers and a mouse and keyboard. By the same token, you can use a controller or mouse and keyboard via Luna as well. As it supports both those categories of inputs. However, which one you can use will also depend on where you access Luna.

For example, through the browser on a PC as opposed to on the TV if you’re using Luna with the Ubisoft+ channel.

Will the service ever come to consoles?

Tough to say. As of right now there are no confirmations from Ubisoft about the service coming to consoles. And if it ever does, there’s no guarantee it’ll be available on all console platforms. Meaning you could see it on PS4 and PS5, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, but not Nintendo Switch.

However, this is just conjecture since Ubisoft has yet to announce a console rollout. Keeping that in mind, there is no Ubisoft+ availability on consoles at the moment. This could boil down to Ubisoft’s own decision to hold off, and if that’s the case perhaps it’s in development.

There’s also the possibility that the service hasn’t launched for consoles because the studio has yet to make deals with Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo.

Update: February 13, 2024

As of May 17, 2022 Ubisoft+ has been available on consoles for both the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. You can access it through Ubisoft+ Classics as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium. That being said, this does not include Ubisoft+ Premium games. If you want access to newly released titles, such as Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, you will need Ubisoft+ Premium and will need to access the game via PC or Amazon Luna.

Can I keep any of the games I download?

You will only have access to the games in the Ubisoft+ library while you are subscribed to the service. Even if you’ve already installed the games, you will not be able to play them after you unsubscribe. However, you will not lose any progress thanks to Ubisoft Connect.

So should you ever re-subscribe to the service, you will once again be able to play the games you have installed and carry on from where you left off. Just like if you were swapping between platforms.

Does the service offer cross-play?

Ubisoft+ does offer cross-play. This means you can play with friends even if they’re not playing on the same platform as you. Having said that, this is only for select titles. Not all games will support cross-play, and you may want to make sure the game you’re trying to play with friends supports cross-play before hopping onto your chosen platform.

Some games may support cross-play in the future but may not at the current moment. So that’s another thing to keep in mind.
