Most of the major, even smaller, smartphone makers have launched many devices with foldable displays. Some of the brands released such products five to six years ago. However, we still haven’t witnessed a foldable Apple device. However, we did see several rumors regarding the first foldable device from Apple.
Now, a new report has shed some details about the same. Haitong Securities Apple analyst Jeff Pu says that Apple will launch two foldable products in 2026. The new report corroborates what we’ve heard from the recent rumors.
The first foldable Apple device won’t be an iPhone
If Pu’s predictions are to be believed, Apple product with a foldable display will not be an iPhone. He says that Apple is planning to launch two foldable devices in 2026. The first such product will be a foldable iPad/Mac hybrid. It will launch during the second quarter of 2026. Unfortunately, Pu hasn’t divulged anything else about the foldable Apple iPad/Mac hybrid.
However, earlier reports have suggested that the book-style product could sport either an 18.8-inch or a 20.3-inch internal display when fully opened. Other than that we haven’t a clue about the device yet.
Fret not iPhone lovers, a foldable iPhone will debut in 2026 as well
There’s also a piece of good news about the Apple fans eagerly waiting for a foldable iPhone. In the same report, Jeff Pu has suggested that an iPhone will be the second foldable device Apple will launch in 2026. The foldable iPhone is slated to launch in late 2026.
As per previous reports, the iPhone will not only be slim & light, but also minimize the display crease. No other details about the same are available as of now. However, since 2026 is quite far, there’s a lot of space for the rumor mill to fill in the gaps.
Other than revealing that Apple will launch two foldable products in 2026, Pu hasn’t revealed anything else. That said, a lot can happen between now and 2026. However, if these reported timelines are true, Apple seems to be planning to make a lot of radical changes across its product ranges.
