According to Android Police, Twitter will soon allow users to select text within tweets on its Android app manually.

Over the past few months, Twitter has been actively seeking to add new features to its Android and iOS versions. Some users have always believed that Twitter is more focused on the iOS version and does not pay much attention to the Android app. Anyway, now we see a new feature is coming to the Android version.

Famous tipster Jane Manchun Wong spotted the feature, and she shared it on her Twitter. Twitter for Android has been deprived of an easy text selection tool, and users had to use Overview Selection. However, an easier way for selecting texts within tweets is on the way.

The addition of any new features to the Android version of Twitter should be welcomed. Of course, the question may arise as to why the addition of such a functional feature has not been done before and why it has taken so long.

We still don’t know when this feature will find its way to the stable version of Twitter for Android. However, it shouldn’t take long as the feature is now activated for some test users.

After Jack Dorsey stepped down as Twitter CEO and the company’s CTO Parag Agrawal took his place, Twitter has experienced a series of changes. Agrawal first started by overhauling the Twitter security team. Then, he focused on adding new and practical features to the mobile apps.

In recent months, we had a lot of news about new features that might come to Twitter. For example, the company has just started testing the ‘Downvote’ button globally. This could be a new way for users to react to a tweet they don’t like or find annoying. Currently, the only way to react to a tweet is to use the thumbs up button or leave a comment. However, a downvote button provides a new way of showing disagreement with a tweet.

The ability to switch between different timelines is another feature that might come to Twitter in the coming months. The date these features will arrive at the stable versions of Twitter is still unknown.
