Total War: Warhammer III is getting the Shadows of Change DLC soon, with the content coming as part of the version 4.0 update. Shadows of Change will officially release on August 31 and introduce a slew of new content to the game. Including three new legendary lords, new campaign mechanics, new units to control in battles and more.

The DLC will require you to fork out $24.99 if you want to pick it up, but if you grab it early enough you can grab it at a discount. Which brings the price down to $22.49. The DLC is available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store too. And worth noting is that the promotional discount price sticks around until September 7. While the DLC does cost money, players will be able to get some content for free with the 4.0 update. Such as a legendary hero Aekold Helbrass.

Total War: Warhammer III Shadows of Change adds new legendary lords

Total War Warhammer III The Changeling

Players looking to beef up their rosters with new strategies will get the chance with Shadows of Change. As three new legendary lords are being added to the game. Each of which can command new units. First, there’s The Changeling, Tzeentch’s Trickster, which uses the element of surprise to march toward victory. As a “master infiltrator,” The Changeling has the ability to impersonate others and sew discord among enemy ranks to turn the tables of war to their advantage.

New units that come along with The Changeling include The Blue Scribes, Tzaangors, the Cockatrice, and the Mutalith Vortex Beast. All of these units have special abilities that might come in handy. The Cockatrice for example can “vomit acid” from the skies above to poison enemies on the field. The second new legendary lord is Yuan Bo, the Jade Dragon. Which commands the Jade Lion, the Jet Lion, the Onyx Crowmen, and the Celestial General. Lastly there’s Mother Ostankya, Daughter of the Forest. Units for Mother Ostankya include the Hag Witch, Elemental Incarnate of Beasts, The Things in the Woods, and Akshina Rangers.

You can check out the new trailer for Shadows of Change below if you haven’t seen it yet. Then prepare yourself for battle in the coming weeks. If you don’t already have Total War: Warhammer III, you can still play it on Xbox Game Pass for the next seven days before it gets removed.
