The Xiaomi 13 series will feature top-of-the-line specs, the company has just confirmed some details. As many of you already know, Xiaomi announced yesterday that its new flagships will launch on December 1. That launch event will take place in China, while the global launch will follow later on, quite probably in Q1 2023.
The Xiaomi 13 series to feature top-of-the-line specs
That being said, Xiaomi did share some spec details for the Xiaomi 13 series. The company once again confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will fuel the device. That’s something we already knew, but there you have it.
Xiaomi did release some additional info regarding the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, though. The company said that its CPU multi-core performance is increased by 37% compared to the Apple A16 Bionic SoC. The GPU performance is 42% better compared to that same chip, it is said.
That’s not all, though. Both LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage have been confirmed. That is the most advanced RAM and flash storage Xiaomi can use in a smartphone, so it’s great to hear that’s what they’ll do.
Both LPDDR5X RAM & UFS 4.0 flash storage will be used
The Xiaomi 13 series will use LPDDR5X 8,533Mbps RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The memory bandwidth will basically rival those on desktop chips. UFS 4.0 can actually offer a sequential read capability of up to 3.5GB/s, that’s double what UFS 3.1 offers. It is also equipped with FBO storage refresh technology.
The Xiaomi 13 series is shaping up to be really interesting. Two flagship-grade phones are coming, the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. They will feature considerably different designs, though, it seems.
The Xiaomi 13 will feature a flat display, with flat sides, and a different rear camera island. The Xiaomi 13 Pro will have a curved display, and be a lot curvier in general.
These two phones will also differ in the spec department. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is expected to include a 1-inch camera sensor on the back, but the same cannot be said for the Xiaomi 13, at least based on rumors.
