Sony Pulse 3D Wireless Headset
There are some major benefits to the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset over other options. For one, Sony designed this specifically for use with the PS5.

Additionally, it comes with a detachable boom mic which comes with a pop filter, and it has a second built-in mic for voice calls or chat in a more casual setting.
It also comes with a low-latency adaptor, a premium carry pouch, and it uses USB-C for charging. There’s 7.1 surround sound onboard as well, and it comes with up to 22 hours of battery life. I could go on. As there are many more features that make this headset worth it. Sure, it’s $50 less than the Disc Edition of the PS5 console itself. You can’t go wrong with the tried and true wireless headset from the PlayStation platform. The Sony PlayStation Gold Wireless Headset.
This particular model is the new one that came out in 2018, and not the one that launched alongside the PS4 further back. It has a built-in mic with and adjustable, comfy headband, and although this was designed for the PS4, Sony has confirmed that it supports the PS5 as well.
You can use it wirelessly, or plug it in with a 3.5mm audio cable to use it wired to the DualSense controller if you want to save battery life. Or if you’ve been playing so long that it dies on you and you want to continue playing.
One of the cooler things about it over the other options is the replaceable faceplates. Sony made it so you can swap these faceplates out to customize the look of the headset. Giving yours a little bit of a more personalized look so it’s unique.
It also features on-ear controls and it plugs into the console using a USB dongle. All of this being said, $199.97 is way overpriced for this headset. So while we’re including it because it’s a solid option, if you choose this headset over the others in this list, we recommend waiting till it goes back to its $99.99 price tag.
Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2
Turtle Beach is probably one of the earlier brands that started creating gaming headsets for consoles. And thus one of its latest headsets is one of the best headsets for PS5 as it was designed for use with the PS5 and the PS4.
It features an all black exterior as well as a flip up boom mic. The great thing about the design of the mic though is that it stays hidden when you flip it up. If you like to have that aesthetic, this is a nice touch that none of the other headsets really offer unless the mic is detachable.
It’s got a 20-hour battery life which puts it ahead of the Razer Nari Wireless 7.1. And if you tend to go for long gaming sessions or longer times between charges, any extra battery life is key.
Like some of the other options on here it also supports a wireless connection through either the USB dongle, or through Bluetooth. So you can use the USB dongle for PS5, PS4, and PC, while using Bluetooth for mobile devices, and other devices that support Bluetooth. The USB dongle is also pretty tiny compared to previous models, which means it isn’t going to stick out a whole lot.
There’s variable mic monitoring too, which again means you can make sure that you sound perfect for your teammates in the chat. This is a very useful feature so that no one has to keep adjusting things on their end.
Astro A20
There’s a lot of good things about the Astro A20, but one feature that stands out is the 15-foot wireless range. This is excellent if you need to get up from the couch and run to the fridge for a bottle of water or some snacks. Provided the console isn’t too far from where your you’re trying to get to.
Like the GSP 670 it has the flip up boom mic that mutes automatically when you flip it up. As well as on-ear controls for volume and power. One thing that it offers that some of the others don’t though is the 3 different EQ presets. With these you can tweak the audio to be a better fit for the type of game you’re playing.
It has a 15-hour battery life, which is not bad but not the longest of all the options on here. So if you want something with more longevity, you might consider something like the Black Shark V2 Pro or the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset.
You can also use this headset with PC, and Astro boasts that it stays comfortable even after a long day of gaming.
Razer Kraken X For Console

Rounding out our list is the most affordable option, but also still one of the best PS5 headsets. The Razer Kraken X for console was designed for use on consoles just like the name suggests.
And this one in particular has the black and blue color scheme of the PlayStation 4 as well as the PlayStation branding. This is a wired headset, so that is a big part of why it’s only $50. But if you don’t need anything fancy or you don’t mind plugging the headset into your DualSense controller, you can’t go wrong here.
It comes with 7.1 surround sound for positional audio during games, and a bendable noise cancelling mic for good placement and clear voice for your teammates. Worth noting though is that the 7.1 surround sound positional audio is only available when using this headset with PC because it needs the companion software to enable that. It still does offer great audio with the PS5 though. And did we mention it’s only $50?
Lastly, it comes with on-ear controls for volume and muting the mic.
