James Cameron’s Titanic is coming back to theaters in February.

After 25 years, Titanic will again be playing on the big screen. Originally released in 1997, Titanic is directed by Avatar: The Way of Water helmer James Cameron and memorably stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio as two lovers who have a whirlwind romance on the famous boat before its sinking. The hit film, which is the third highest-grossing movie of all time, will be back on the big screen starting on Friday, Feb. 10. Ahead of the occasion, you can watch the new trailer released by Paramount for the film’s re-release below.

The re-release will feature a remastered version of Titanic in 3D 4K HDR and high-frame rate. This also gives the film another chance to build up some more cash for its total to keep it high at the list of the most successful movies ever made. When Titanic was first released, it set the record as the No. 1 all-time global box office champion. Cameron’s Avatar now sits at No. 1 ahead of Avengers: Endgame with the recent sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, quickly moving its way up that list as well. The subsequent success of the Avatar movies have made Cameron the first director to have three movies surpass $1.5 billion at the box office.

It’s difficult to imagine Titanic without Leonardo DiCaprio as one of its lead stars, but that could have been the case. Cameron recently addressed how he almost passed on casting DiCaprio based on the actor’s attitude at the time. While Cameron had his frustrations with the actor, he also praised how DiCaprio was able to instantly slip into the character he needed to be the second filming started.

“So he comes in, and he’s like every ounce of his entire being is just so negative—right up until I said, ‘Action.’ Then he turned into Jack. Kate just lit up, and they played the scene,” Cameron explained in a GQ interview.

Titanic will be back on the big screen on Feb. 10, 2023.
