Mobvoi has announced its new smartwatch, the TicWatch 5 Pro. This watch comes with the latest version of Google’s wearable OS, Wear OS 3, and it also includes a rotating crown on the side.
The TicWatch 5 Pro features a rotating crown, and also ships with Wear OS 3
That crown, of course, doubles as a physical button. You’ll notice another button on the right-hand side, above the rotating crown. This is a circular smartwatch, and it does look like a regular watch.
Its software will be quite similar to those of you who used a Pixel Watch, as Mobvoi didn’t really mess with Wear OS 3 all that much. The watch is fueled by the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1, Qualcomm’s 4nm chip. This is actually the first smartwatch to offer it.
Mobvoi claims that this watch can last for 80 hours on a charge, it has a 628mAh battery on the inside. The company also claims that faster charging is included, as you can get to 65% in only 30 minutes.
The display is never really off, per se
There is a 1.43-inch 466 x 466 OLED display included on the front. Now, when this display is ‘off’, a second later takes over, and shows you the time. We’ve seen this implementation on TicWatch before.
There is even an “ultra-low-power” mode that can keep this watch going for weeks, says the company. GPS is supported here, and a barometer is also built-in.
The watch is 5 ATM rated for water resistance, and it also has a MIL-STD-810H certification for durability. It is made out of aluminum, and has a case that measures 48mm. The watch itself weighs 44.35 grams.
The Mobvoi Health app will keep track of your physical activity
Do note that the health features are handled by the Mobvoi Health app. Speaking of which, this watch can track your steps, heart rate, sleep, and also workouts, of course. There are a ton of modes included here, and it can also automatically detect workouts.
The TicWatch 5 Pro is now available for $349, and you can get it from either Mobvoi.com or Amazon. Links are included below.
