The Pixel Watch 2 is expected to be revealed alongside the Pixel 8 series phones this year, and it looks there’s now an idea of what the design may be like thanks to a render. According to a new report from MySmartPrice, a render of the Pixel Watch 2 has shown up next to some specifications of the device within the Google Play Console.
And the render suggests Google probably isn’t changing much about the design with the Pixel Watch 2. Because the design for the watch in the render looks like the original Pixel Watch. Is that really surprising though? Take a look at the Apple Watch for example. Over the years Apple has changed very little of its design. If it changed anything at all. Most of the models ever released look just like the last one. With the company making changes to internal hardware. In addition to updating the software and adding new features or apps.
But when it comes to the looks, Apple hasn’t really deviated. Most of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch smartwatches have looked the same over the years too. And it would appear Google is doing the same thing. At least with the second Pixel Watch model. That is if the render is an accurate depiction of the design and not just a placeholder.
Pixel Watch 2 render accompanied by a few specs
But enough about the design. You might care less about how it looks and more about how it will perform. While it’s impossible to answer that till it’s been tested, some of the specs have leaked. So you can at least get an idea of how things might perform.
According to the Google Play Console screenshots, the watch will be running on the Snapdragon Wear 5100 from Qualcomm. It also seems to have 2GB of RAM, and a Wear OS version based on Android 13. Additional specs include a 384 x 384 display size, and a dpi of 320. And that’s about it. There’s no mention of storage, the battery capacity, or battery life for that matter. But don’t expect those details to stay under wraps for too long. Especially the closer it gets to Google’s Fall Pixel event where these are suspected to be shown off.
