If you’re an avid WhatsApp user, then chances are that you’re in a couple of group chats. Adding people to your group is a pretty easy affair, but apps are all about making easy tasks even easier. WhatsApp could be working on a banner that will make adding people to a group chat easier.
This is a minor change to the UI, but it might just make the process a bit more simple. Also, if you’re new to WhatsApp, then it will negate you having to search around for the option. As it stands now, if you want to add people to a group chat, you need to access the three-dot menu and tap on the Add button at the top of the UI. It’s easy, but WhatsApp wants to make it easier.
WhatsApp will make adding people to a group chat easier
This is still in testing, so we don’t know if it will make it to the public version of the app. You’ll want to take this with a grain of salt. As spotted by WABetaInfo (via Android Police), WhatsApp might display a banner over your group chat prompting you to add people to your group.
The banner will say “Add participants”. So, as you can guess, when you tap on it, it will bring you to the list of your contacts to add them. It looks like it will be a consistent banner that won’t go away. Fortunately, there’s a little “X” on the side of the banner that will get rid of it.
This isn’t the biggest change to the UI, but it could help people who aren’t familiar with the app. Often, it’s the little things that make an app better to use. The things that make the experience more intuitive and easy to use. If you’re using WhatsApp on a constant basis, then you’ll appreciate the ability to easily add people to your groups.
