The alleged Vivo NEX 5 flagship just surfaced. The device surfaced in an image that shows renders of both the phone’s front and back sides. We cannot confirm this image is legit, though, so take it with a grain of salt.

The Vivo NEX 5 flagship appeared, and it looks really nice

If it ends up being legit, the Vivo NEX 5 will be a very sleek-looking phone. It will have a curved display, with really thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole on the front. The leaked image is provided below.

On the back, you can expect a really capable camera setup. We can see four cameras here, one of which is a periscope one. Leica lenses are also included on the back here, while the phone includes a 50-megapixel main camera.

That main camera setup actually utilizes Samsung’s ISOCELL GN1 sensor, which is the same sensor Google used in the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. It is also the same sensor Vivo utilized in the Vivo X70 Pro+.

The phone seems to offer a proportional design, its front and back sides seem to have the same curves. All the physical buttons sit on the right-hand side of the phone, with the power/lock key being placed below the volume buttons.

You’ll also notice the ‘NEX’ branding on the back, while the top and bottom sides of the phone don’t seem to be entirely flat, but they’re not far from it. The camera setup on the back is actually circular, it does remind me of old Windows Phone Nokia smartphones.

The backplate seems to be made out of glass, but it’s not glossy. Vivo seems to be going for a matte look on this white-colored variant of the phone. The device will almost certainly come in more color options.

It could launch at some point this month

Towards the bottom of the provided image, you’ll notice that February 2022 is mentioned. So, this phone could launch this month. The Vivo NEX 3 launched back in September 2019, so it has been quite some time since then. The NEX 4 didn’t arrive at all. The number 4 is considered unlucky in China, so that’s probably why Vivo plans to skip it altogether.

Once again, we’re not sure this image is legit, so take it with a grain of salt. Based on Vivo’s past designs of the Vivo X60 and X70 series phones, it is possible this one is legit, though. We’ll see.
