The Super Bowl may be over but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad time to score a great deal on a nice big TV if you don’t already have one, and this TCL Q6 OLED for only $318 is a great pickup. Not only does it come with Google TV OS baked in (more on that later), but it’s 4K resolution for crisp, clear visuals for movies and games.
Now starting with the Google TV OS feature, this brings a lot of smart features to your viewing experience. One of the biggest parts of this is the Play Store availability. Where you can download and install apps (and some games). Once installed, all of these will be available right on the home interface that Google TV offers. You also end up with personalized content available to you through recommendations. It also has apps like GeForce NOW if you want to play games in the cloud, and it supports both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for voice controls.
The voice controls are a really nice touch because they make using certain features on the TV more convenient. For example, you could ask Google or Alexa to adjust the volume. Or ask Google to find something for you to watch. The voice controls aren’t limited to just TV-related functions either. You can still use them for controlling smart devices around your home like the thermostats, lights, and more. Or simply ask a question you want an answer to. Like what the weather will be like this week.
The TV also supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision for superior picture quality and some really immersive sound. And with the Game Accelerator feature, you’ll get up to 120 frames per second in games that support it on consoles like the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
