They’re both colossal DC failures, but Dwayne Johnson can at least celebrate beating George Clooney at his own game

Even though they don’t seem like the kind of celebrities who would travel in the same circles other than occasionally bumping into each other at an awards show or promotional event, Dwayne Johnson and George Clooney now have two major things in common.

The first – which they’ll no doubt be reminded about for the remainder of their respective careers – is that they were both cursed to star in a high-profile DC flop. Whereas Clooney has long since owned his status as the leading man of the worst live-action Batman blockbuster there’s ever going to be, The Rock has yet to address the failure of Black Adam in any great detail.

Two-time Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker Clooney will tell anyone who listens that he’s the suckiest Dark Knight that’s ever sucked, but Johnson’s ambitious plans to carve out his own corner of the DCU ended up imploding at the first hurdle, leaving him with egg all over his face that arguably hasn’t been washed off quite yet.

However, the latter does have the former beaten in the other trait they share; the tequila business. Taking to social media, Johnson celebrated the fact his Teremana brand has sold a million cases in the last 12 months alone, something Clooney’s Casamigos couldn’t hold a candle to after shipping 170,000 cases annually before he sold it off.

Of course, Clooney does technically hold the upper hand when Casamigos was offloaded to drinks giant Diageo in 2017 for a colossal billion dollars, something Johnson will no doubt be hoping to replicate and perhaps even emulate in the future.
