This week, AT&T and Verizon turned on C-Band 5G, giving us even faster 5G service in a number of markets. By the end of the year, it should cover more than half of the country. But what phones actually support C-Band right now? Luckily, you don’t need to wait for a software update for most, nor do you need to buy a new phone. That is, if you bought a new phone within the past year or so.

AT&T’s list of compatible C-Band smartphones

For AT&T, there are 17 devices that have C-Band compatibility for its network. They are listed below:

  • Google Pixel 6
  • Google Pixel 6 Pro
  • Samsung Galaxy A13 4G
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S22 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S22+ 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G
  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 Mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13
  • iPhone 13 Mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max

More phones will be joining this list in the future. You can also basically guarantee that any future 5G devices that AT&T adds, will support C-Band. Giving you really great 5G speeds.

To know if you have C-Band in your area, just look for the “5G+” icon in your status bar. That will indicate that you are on C-Band.

Verizon’s list of compatible C-Band smartphones

Verizon has not yet released a list of compatible smartphones for C-Band. But the list should be very similar to AT&T, and might even include a few others.

  • Google Pixel 6 (not yet certified)
  • Google Pixel 6 Pro (not yet certified)
  • Samsung Galaxy A13 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy A42 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE
  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 Mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13
  • iPhone 13 Mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPad Pro 5G
  • iPad Mini 5G

As with AT&T, you can bet that any other 5G smartphone that Verizon launches on its network now will have C-Band support. So you won’t need to worry about phones like the Galaxy S22 or the Pixel 7 having C-Band, as it will. Otherwise, the carriers will not sell it.

Wrap Up

Basically, the main flagship phones – Android and iOS – have C-Band from the past year or so. The one caveat here is that if you bought an unlocked version, you may not have C-Band. It’s a 50/50 shot. So it’s a good idea to always buy your phones directly from your carrier. So that you can get the latest and greatest network upgrades, like C-Band.

As for T-Mobile, they have not released a list of C-Band compatible smartphones yet, as their network is not going live until the end of 2022. So it’s likely that their list will be a whole lot longer than what AT&T and Verizon have here. When it does actually go live.
