The Witcher

It might be difficult to imagine looking at the current complexion of the television industry, but there was once a time where being labeled as a ‘TV actor’ was either an insult or a sign that somebody’s career was on the decline. Of course, the Golden Age we’ve been living through for over a decade, and the concurrent rise of the streaming service, has made those lines blurrier than ever before.

One major beneficiary has been Henry Cavill, who looked as though he may have been facing a crossroads of sorts once Joss Whedon’s Justice League was released to complete and utter apathy. Warner Bros. had shown no interest in ever getting around to that Man of Steel sequel, and the studio were intent to move as far away from the Zack Snyder era as possible, with those questions surrounding his future still yet to be answered.

Luckily, the gaming fanatic campaigned hard to secure the role of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, which went on to become the platform’s most-watched original series ever and reigned as the most popular show on the planet, with the leading man pocketing a tidy $400,000 per episode, a number that’s no doubt been increased for Season 2.

Tipster Mikey Sutton is reporting that Cavill’s renewed value and status is a potential way to line his pockets substantially should he return to the DCEU, with a Black Adam cameo being rumored once again. Looking at his upcoming schedule that includes more Witcher, the Highlander reboot, Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle and The Rosie Project, it isn’t as if he’s going to be getting any cheaper over the next few years should all of those projects hit big.
