‘The trans woman movement is actually anti-woman’: Aaron Rodgers may have finally ended his NFL career on Joe Rogan

NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers just can’t help himself. While most quarterbacks spend their offseasons training or, say, not publicly spouting off half-baked opinions, Rodgers decided to take a different route: hopping on The Joe Rogan Experience to deliver yet another masterclass in why he’s currently an unsigned free agent.

Rodgers’ latest gem? “The trans woman movement is actually anti-woman.” Yes, really. That quote alone should raise eyebrows, but it’s just the latest entry in Rodgers’ growing highlight reel of head-scratching tin foil hat takes, and cultural grievance cosplay.

The four-time NFL MVP might still have some juice left in his arm, but he’s clearly more invested in becoming the next Jordan Peterson than finding a new locker room.

“It’s not about inclusivity anymore”

Rodgers made the inflammatory statement during a recent episode of Rogan’s show, in which the two discussed everything from gender identity to COVID conspiracies (because, of course, they did). Rodgers, looking more like a wellness influencer than a Super Bowl champion, went on a rant accusing the trans rights movement of “erasing real women” and “pushing a political agenda that’s silencing women’s voices.”

Rodgers added, “The trans woman movement is actually anti-woman. It’s not about inclusivity anymore; it’s about domination, control, and silencing biological women. You can’t even say ‘woman’ without getting canceled now.” Cancel culture. Transphobia. Misogyny. All in under 30 seconds. A true triple threat.

If this seems par for the course, that’s because it is. Rodgers has a long history of making statements that sound like they came straight out of a Reddit forum.

In 2021, he infamously misled the public by saying he was “immunized” against COVID-19, when in fact he had refused the vaccine. He later doubled down in multiple interviews, parroting discredited anti-vaccine rhetoric and championing “natural immunity.” ESPN covered the fallout extensively.

Then came his stint on The Pat McAfee Show, where Rodgers frequently spewed conspiracy theories and took potshots at “woke culture” and the media. In short, he’s become the NFL’s loudest voice for locker room libertarianism.

Now, with his anti-trans and anti-woman comments, Rodgers appears determined to alienate yet another swath of fans — and possibly front offices.

Rodgers’ NFL status: still jobless

As of May 2025, Aaron Rodgers remains unsigned and unemployed. After tearing his Achilles just four plays into his debut with the New York Jets in the 2023 season, Rodgers missed the entire year. Rumors swirled about a miraculous comeback late in the season, but it never materialized. Rodgers underperformed in 2024, and his contract was terminated in early 2025. No team has picked him up since.

Why would they? At 41, Rodgers is injury-prone, expensive, and — let’s face it — a PR nightmare. Teams might tolerate your diva behavior when you’re dropping 40 touchdowns a season. But when your main contribution is alienating marginalized communities on podcast mics? Not so much.
