A new rumor suggests the Pixel Watch 2 is coming out this Fall. According to a report from 9To5Google, who cites unnamed sources, Google will release its second-gen Pixel Watch wearable later this year alongside the release of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
If the rumor is accurate and timing stays the same, then consumers can expect the Pixel Watch 2 to show up sometime after October. As many Pixel fans are well aware at this point, October is the month of Google’s big Pixel hardware releases. This is when the company holds its event for new Pixel flagship phones. It’s also when Google released the first Pixel Watch last year, after showing it off at Google I/O in May of 2022.
So the timing does fit quite nicely and seems like a reasonable timeline for the arrival of the second device in its smartwatch lineup.
Pixel Watch 2 rumor doesn’t mention any specific details about the hardware
A timeline for the release is a good place to start for those interested in Google’s upcoming watch. But as of right now that’s all the rumor mentions. When Google is slated to launch the Pixel Watch 2.
Chances are however, that the closer it gets to Google’s October Pixel event, the more information will leak out about this device. Assuming Google doesn’t officially share some of the details beforehand. It’s unclear if Google plans to change the design in any such way or what hardware components it may use.
If we had to guess though, the design might just stay the same. As for new components or other changes, it would make sense for Google to utilize the watch as a launch pad for the latest version of Wear OS. Similar to the way it does with Android and its new flagship Pixel phones every single year.
