The Pixel Tablet might get more accessories afterall

The Pixel Tablet is set to start shipping next month, and we’re all excited to get our hands on it. This is Google’s first tablet, and it comes with a charging dock that will basically turn it into a Nest Hub. However, we’re all still wondering if the Pixel Tablet will have other accessories like a stylus after all.

So, calling this speculation will be the understatement of the year. You’ll definitely want to take this with a grain of salt. There’s not too much to go on in this respect, so this could very well be a bunch of hot air. Just keep that in mind.

Short tweets raise the question of a potential Pixel Tablet stylus

So far, the only first-party accessory for the Pixel Tablet is the official case. Along with protecting the tablet from drops and wear and tear, it also has a metal ring on the back that you can use to prop it up. Other than that, there is the charging dock, but that comes along with the tablet itself.

However, we’ve all noticed the lack of a keyboard and stylus. That seems strange seeing as tablets from Samsung, Apple, Lenovo, OnePlus, and other companies come with these accessories. Back in May 2022, the Pixel Tablet even picked up USI (Universal stylus initiative) certification. That pretty much confirms that this tablet is compatible with a stylus.

Thanks to @Za_Raczke on Twitter, we can probably get our hopes up for these accessories again. She gave us some pretty vague tweets alluding to a “Keyboard for Pixel Tablet” and a “Stylus for Pixel Tablet”. We were supposed to get these devices originally, but Google shelved them. That was pretty frustrating, as these devices could really unlock the potential of the Pixel Tablet.

However, now that she’s tweeting about them again, it seems that Google may have resumed development of these devices. So, who knows if Google May release these accessories for the Pixel Tablet in the future?

It’s possible that Google was waiting to see how many people wanted to pre-order the tablet before releasing more accessories for it. If that’s the case, then we can expect that a fair amount of people have pre-ordered the Pixel Tablet. You can pre-order it here.
