The tech world is anticipating the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6, but that’s not the only exciting clamshell foldable phone coming out this year. Along with that phone, we’ve been following leaks and rumors about the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. Well, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra has just cleared 3C certification in China, and we now know its charging speed.

Right now, we are still getting more information about this phone. We know that it will be called the Razr 50 Ultra in the Chinese market. Over in the States, this phone will be called the Razr+ (2024). We’re not sure why Motorola opted for different naming schemes for the same phone.

In any case, we expect the Razr 50 Ultra to look very much like last year’s iteration with the large external screen encompassing the entire top half of the phone. Just like last year, it will extend past the camera sensors. More information about this phone is coming soon, so you’ll want to stay tuned.

The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra passed 3C certification

Oftentimes, a phone doesn’t really exist until it passes official certification. Motorola’s upcoming foldable phone recently passed through certification at the Indian BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). The model that passed BIS is XT2453-1. Now, a similar model number, XT2453-2, has passed the Chinese 3C certification website.

Charging specifications

Along with the certification, we also got information about this phone’s charging. According to the report, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra will support 15W, 27W, 30W, and 33W charging. So, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra will have relatively slow charging compared to the competition. Samsung’s phones get a lot of flack for offering slower charging at up to 45W. However, Motorola’s peak charging speed is 26% slower than Samsung’s.

Other rumored specs include the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a 6.9-inch OLED panel, a 6.3-inch cover display, a 50-megapixel primary camera accompanied by a 50-megapixel 2x telephoto camera, a 32-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 4,000mAh battery. More information about this phone will come out as we get closer to its official launch.
