The year is a quarter of the way done, and we’ve seen some exciting phones so far. The next anticipated handset if from Motorola, according to 9To5Google. Named the Motorola Edge 40 Pro, this device just launched in Europe, and we have a price for it.

The price for this phone is right in the middle of some of the other notable phones to launch this year. It’s not quite as pricey as the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but it’s still more expensive than the OnePlus 11. The price in Europe is €899. Let’s see what you get for that price.

The Motorola Edge 40 lands for a hefty price

Let’s start off with the display. This phone is rocking a large 6.67-inch POLED display. It’s both overkill and underwhelming because of some of its specs. You won’t get QHD resolution with this phone, as it’s stuck on 1080p. However, it’s running at an insane 165Hz.

Moving onto the internals, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro uses the latest and greatest from Qualcomm. It’s running the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and that’s backed up by a whopping 12GB of RAM. As for storage, it has up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Keeping the lights on, we have a decent 4,600mAh battery. That’s 8% smaller than the flagship standard which is 5,000mAh. In any case, you should get good battery life. The phone supports lightning-fast 125W wired charging. If you use wireless charging, it supports 15W wireless charging.

As for the cameras, we’re looking at a triple-camera package on the back. There’s a 50MP main camera accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide and a 12MP telephoto camera. For the selfie camera, Motorola again used a selfie camera with a larger sensor than the main camera. There’s a 60MP selfie camera up front.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro will launch with Android 13 out of the box which people will definitely like. It comes with several useful and fun changes over Android 12.

Motorola is launching this phone in Europe and in countries in Latin America. As for the US market, the Edge 40 Pro will not hit the States. Instead, the company is testing a different Edge device that will come out later this year.
