Recent headlines regarding the MCU have painted a behind-the-scenes picture of chaos and befuddlement as the studio reportedly struggles to maintain the kind of quality and box office success that they have achieved over the last decade and change.

From concerns surrounding the role that actor Jonathan Majors will play in the future of the franchise, to creative disagreements surrounding the Blade reboot, and even conversations about bringing back the original Avengers cast, the report cites the sheer abundance of Disney+ shows and the disappointment of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (among others) as signs that the MCU is struggling. Will The Marvels be enough to put these worries to rest? Only time will tell, but the box office projections so far have not been particularly promising.

The Marvels comes as part of Phase Five of the MCU, which is also set to include some highly anticipated Marvel movies, including Deadpool 3, the Captain America sequel Captain America: Brave New World, the team-up movie Thunderbolts, and the aforementioned Blade reboot starring Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali.

On the small screen meanwhile, Phase Five offers the second season of What If…?, Echo (for which the first, surprisingly impressive trailer was released), Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, Ironheart, and Daredevil: Born Again.

The Marvels is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 10, 2023. Watch this space for our review and exclusive interviews.
