Here is the June 2023 Android feature drop

There are some useful features coming with this feature drop, and they affect Android phones and tablets along with Wear OS devices. Firstly, Android is getting new widgets. Google is introducing the Google TV, Google Finance, and Google News widgets for phones and tablets.

You’ll be able to check up on your entertainment recommendations with the Google TV widget. If you want to keep an eye on the stocks, you can use the Google Finance widget. Also, you’ll have a quick view of the latest news for the Google News widget.

If you have a child who’s learning how to read, then this feature will be perfect for them. It’s called Reading Practice. Basically, if you have a compatible phone or tablet, your device will listen to your child read, and it will give them feedback on how you read. It seems like it’ll be compatible with select ebook services.

If you love using emoji kitchen, then get ready for some summer fun. Google is introducing summer-themed Emoji kitchens matchups.

Wear OS features

Now, if you use a Wear OS smartwatch, you’re not left out in the dust. There’s a new Spotify tile for Wear OS. You can control your music and listen to your Spotify DJ. You’re able to listen to your favorite music, podcasts, and your heavy rotation. (Available in Wear OS 2+)

If you use Android Wallet on Wear OS, you can now use your watch as a ticket to skip the line. Users in the San Francisco Bay area and in Washington DC can import SmarTrip and Clipper cards to the Google Wallet tile. (Available in Wear OS 2+)

If you like to use Google Keep Notes, you can now add a single note as a tile to your Smartwatch. This is great if you need to access a note or a to-do list straight from your watch. You can make and pin the note all from your smartwatch, so you don’t have to access your phone for it. (Available in Wear OS 3+)

Dark Web Report

This next feature deals more with your Google account. Google will scan your email address, and see if it’s been exposed to the dark web. The service is provided at no extra cost, but it’s for people with an active Google One account in the US. You can access it from the Google One website or straight from your Android device.

If exposed, it will give you guidance on actions that you can take to protect yourself. It’s extremely useful if you care about your privacy.
