According to the El Paso Times, a strange and gruesome incident has emerged out of Texas, where a 39-year-old man is accused of shooting and gutting his father, and attributing this behavior to alien forces.
Jaime Adrian Contreras was taken into custody after authorities answered a 911 call on April 12, 2025. Police arrived at an El Paso home where they found the body of Contreras’ father, 74-year-old Victor Contreras Sr., with horrific injuries. The elder Contreras had his throat cut and was gutted in what authorities described as a brutal and violent scene, according to reports from police.
The nature of the crime was so extreme that even seasoned officers who responded said they could not believe what they saw.
“The nature of the wounds was deeply disturbing,” an El Paso Police Department spokesperson said. “This wasn’t just a homicide—this was an act of extreme violence.”

Jaime Contreras was still at the scene when police officers arrived and was taken into custody.
Contreras reportedly informed detectives that he thought his father was possessed by an alien entity and asserted that aliens had already harvested his organs in the past.
The suspect told them in a confession that he thought Victor Sr. was not human anymore, claiming he killed his father in self-defense when he assaulted what he thought was an alien impersonator.
“He believed his father was not his father,” one official familiar with the interrogation said. “He said it was some kind of alien posing as him, and that he had to act to protect himself.”
Mental health issues loom
Contreras has not yet entered a plea and it is unknown whether he will undergo mental examination before his next court date. His lawyer has not commented, but legal observers think that a plea of insanity is a strong possibility.
“In cases involving delusions or psychosis, mental health evaluations are critical,” said Texas criminal defense attorney Rachel Meyer. “If he truly believed his father was an alien, that could significantly impact the legal proceedings.”
If Contreras is found competent to stand trial, he is charged with first-degree murder. The penalty for that crime in Texas is life imprisonment or the death penalty.

The residents of El Paso have been left stunned at the viciousness of the crime and the bizarre allegations that followed. The Contreras family had been quiet but polite neighbors with no prior indication of any issues.
“I would see them outside from time to time,” one neighbor said. “They kept to themselves, but nothing ever seemed wrong. This is just unreal.”
Local authorities are asking the public to be patient while detectives try to piece together everything that occurred.
Contreras is being held without bond in the El Paso County Jail. In a matter of weeks, there will be a preliminary court hearing to decide if Contreras is competent to stand trial. At that time, authorities will likely determine whether additional psychiatric examinations are necessary.
