With Superman: Legacy pressing ahead with pre-production faster than a speeding bullet, DC die-hards are eagerly awaiting the official announcement of who will be replacing Henry Cavill as the silver screen’s latest Last Son of Krypton. If one casting claim is to be believed, however, we might just receive news of an entirely different DC hero being hired before the next Man of Steel is found.

As originally hailing from The Hot Mic’s John Rocha, word has it that none other than Mr. Terrific will appear in Legacy and the part is currently being cast. While you should feel free to take this intel with as much salt as you like, The Hollywood Reporter has previously confirmed that writer/director James Gunn’s plan for his Superman reboot is to include various other superheroes from the pages of DC Comics.

For those not familiar with the character, Mr. Terrific aka Michael Holt doesn’t possess any superpowers but his incredible mind — he’s classified as the third smartest man on Earth, behind Batman and Lex Luthor — and status as an Olympic Gold Medalist martial artist make him a valuable member of both the Justice Society and Justice League. A version of the hero, renamed Curtis Holt, was featured in the later seasons of The CW’s Arrow, played by Echo Kellum.

Again, Terrific’s involvement in Legacy has yet to be confirmed, but it’s worth mentioning that Gunn teased he had plans for Holt way back in November 2022 (which is when he was probably first diving into his script for the movie).

As a personal aside, I’m keeping my fingers crossed this means Gunn has plans for a film based around The Terrifics, DC’s answer to the Fantastic Four. Make it happen, Mr. Gunn
