When Samsung held its first Unpacked event for 2025, consumers were presented with the main Galaxy S25 lineup, but they also got a quick sneak peek at the Galaxy S25 Edge. A phone with a slimmer profile that presumably has all the same components as the mainline phones, but without as much bulk. Surprisingly, Samsung didn’t reveal much beyond the design. Attendees at the show weren’t even allowed to handle the phone physically.
Fast forward to now, and we’re much closer to learning official details about Samsung’s slimmest phone to date. Today, the company has confirmed that it will hold a virtual Unpacked event for the “Next Evolution of Galaxy,” which seems to very clearly be an event for the Galaxy S25 Edge.
The next Unpacked event should fully reveal the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
It’s worth noting that Samsung doesn’t explicitly refer to the Galaxy S25 Edge for this event. However, the invitations heavily suggest this is the phone to be revealed. Two words are on the invitation, accompanied by the event date. “Beyond Slim,” the invitation reads.
Samsung often likes to use these slightly cryptic yet still obvious phrases for all of its device reveals. They also always blatantly tease the devices that the events will reveal, and the designs on the invitations also usually mimic something about the device design. In this case, a slim, slate-style device. No folds to be found. Samsung has also typically held events for its new generation of foldable devices during the Summer. It’s not Summertime yet, so it’s less likely that this event will have anything to do with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The event is happening on May 12
A date for Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge reveal has popped up before. Late last month, a leaked image of the invitation surfaced with the phrase and date in Italian, stating that the event would happen on May 13. That being said, Italy is 8 hours ahead of the US. So, it stands to reason that the date for the event in the US would be the day before. In this case, May 12.
The invitation doesn’t mention the time, however, Samsung confirms it’ll be happening at 8PM Eastern Standard Time. That’s 5PM Pacific Standard Time on the West Coast. Which means this will be an end-of-day virtual event to reveal more details about the upcoming phone. The event will be livestreamed on Samsung’s official YouTube channel as well as Samsung’s website.
While Samsung doesn’t mention any specific details for the event, it’s likely we’ll hear about a few things. Such as the official price, as well as a release date. The phone has already been rumored to launch on May 13 in Korea, with a US launch date of May 30. We’ll also have a surprise to reveal something exciting tomorrow morning, so stay tuned.
