Square Enix has announced a brand-new game in the Kingdom Hearts series for mobile devices with ‘Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link’. The new title will release for both Android and iOS devices in 2024 and is currently in development. The publisher will be holding an upcoming closed beta in the near future too. Just in case you wanted to test the game for yourself prior to its official release next year.

The official Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link website says that “recruits are being accepted until November 19. That means you’ve still got a few weeks to apply for a spot in the closet beta. But usually it’s better to apply as soon as possible. So if you have a few free minutes, you should do that. The test will be starting on November 29 but there are a few caveats. The November 29 date is for iOS user only and the test will be limited to UK and Australia. The testing period for Android will be in the same regions but won’t begin until January of 2024.

Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link is a GPS-based Action RPG

Square Enix hasn’t shared a tone about the game yet and this includes any real context as to what the story is about. But the publisher does mention that this will be a GPS-based Action RPG. Square Enix has also put out a trailer that showcases some of the game’s graphics as well as a little bit of gameplay mechanics and combat. Though nothing of real substance that alludes to the main core of what players will experience.

The trailer does however mention that you’ll be able to explore Disney worlds and collect character pieces imbued with powers. It also says the game will be a journey filled with new experiences and encounters. So chances are the story is entirely new even if there are some familiar faces that pop up. You can view the trailer for the game below and register for the closed beta on the main website if you live in a supported region.
