Sony’s upcoming budget smartphone, which will also be quite compact, has just surfaced in renders. The name of the device is the Sony Xperia Ace III, and these are CAD-based renders. This phone follows the Xperia 10 IV which surfaced in CAD-based renders recently.
Sony’s upcoming compact budget smartphone will be boxy
As you can see, the Xperia Ace III will be quite boxy. The phone will be encased in a plastic shell, at least it seems like it. Its backplate will surely be plastic, and it seems like the sides are as well.
The device will have a rather thin ‘chin’ at the bottom, and a dewdrop notch at the top. All of its physical buttons will sit on the right-hand side, with the power/lock button below the volume rocker keys. The phone’s power/lock key will also double as a fingerprint scanner.
A single camera is placed on the back of the device, along with an LED flash. You’ll also notice that a 3.5mm headphone jack is also included, it sits at the top of this smartphone.
It will feature a 5.5-inch display
Now, @OnLeaks, who provided these renders, claims that the phone will retain its 5.5-inch display size. That will make it rather compact, considering how large phones are these days.
The Sony Xperia Ace III is said to measure 139.7 x 68.6 x 9.1mm. If this ends up being accurate, that means it will be slightly smaller than its predecessor, while being slightly thicker.
The phone is expected to include one of MediaTek’s Dimensity processors, but we still don’t know which one. It will likely be waterproof as well, and its availability will be quite limited, most likely.
This smartphone will almost certainly launch in Japan. It remains to be seen if Sony will add any more markets to that list. The Xperia Ace III is expected to launch in either April or May.
