Sony is back at CES this year, with a ton of new TVs. But what is new are some 8K TVs, as well as some 4K Mini-LED TVs. The X95K series offer up to 85-inch Mini-LED TVs, which will provide a really impressive experience.
The Master Series X95K has the Cognitive Processor XR which is able to understand how humans see and hear, providing a revolutionary experience that completely immerses viewers in their favorite content. The XR Triluminous Pro and XR Contrast Booster 15 work to express billions of accurate colors with exceptional black contrast. Thanks to X-Wide Angle, you’re going to get a vivid real-world color experience from any angle, while retaining the color and brightness.
Like all of Sony’s TV models, this also runs on Google TV. So you’re going to have access to thousands of Android apps on your TV.
The Sony Master Z9K TV series are the new 8K Mini-LED models, which have an incredible picture quality. And has Acoustic Multi-Audio, which uses four frame tweeters at the top and either side of the TV, in addition to front-firing speakers and dual subwoofers. This will elevate directional sound sources, ensuring pictures and sound are in total harmony for a more cinematic experience.
Sony’s not ditching OLED though
Sony is adding Mini-LED to its lineup, but also keeping OLED in its lineup, with the new A90K and A80K series. The Master Series A90K series is available in 48 and 32-inch models. This is part of the Master Series which offers up a picture quality that was calibrated by Netflix. Meaning that you’re going to be able to see your favorite Netflix shows and movies the way that the director intended.
Now, the Sony A80K series is going to be a bit cheaper, since it’s not part of the Master Series, and it comes in 55, 65 and 77-inch models. It has most of the same features as the other Sony TVs that are announced today. Like the Cognitive Processor XR, XR OLED Contrast Pro, BRAVIA CORE Calibrated MOde and more. The A80K is basically just you’re all-around great OLED TV.
And 4K LED TVs for everyone else
Mini-LED and OLED are still not for everyone, and are pretty pricey. So Sony is still going to sell some 4K LED TVs as well. The X90K series comes in 55, 65, 75 and 85-inch models. And has everything you’d expect from a Sony TV in 2022. That includes the Cognitive Processor XR, BRAVIA CORE Calibrated Mode, Acoustic Multi-Audio and more. It is also running on Google TV, giving you access to thousands of your favorite Android apps.
Sony says that pricing and availability for all of these new TVs will be announced in the Spring of 2022. Which is when we’d expect them to go on sale.
