Vivo’s executive, Jia Jingdong, went to Weibo to confirm some Vivo X Flip specs. That phone is expected to launch soon, possibly even by the end of this month. Its name got confirmed recently, while its real-life image also popped up.

Vivo’s exec confirmed some of the Vivo X Flip specs ahead of launch

That being said, what exactly did Jia Jindong share? He mentioned that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC will fuel the phone, as expected. A 50-megapixel main camera with OIS will be included on the back, in addition to an unknown secondary camera.

A 32-megapixel selfie camera will sit under the display, with a display camera hole, most likely. He also said that a Flex Mode-style option for hands-free use will be offered. That’s basically it.

Based on the specs that leaked earlier, however, we do expect a 6.8-inch fullHD+ main display to be included. That panel will offer a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone will allegedly include 12GB of RAM too.

44W charging will be included, and its cover display won’t exactly be small

A 4,400mAh battery was mentioned, as did 44W wired charging. A 12-megapixel secondary camera sensor was tipped earlier too. The phone will likely feature a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

Now, based on the image that leaked recently, the Vivo X Flip will look a lot better than the sketches indicated. It will have a rather nice cover display, similar to what the Motorola Razr 2022 offers in terms of size.

This handset will become Vivo’s first clamshell foldable. It will likely launch alongside the Vivo X Fold 2, which is expected to make an appearance later this month. We still don’t know how much will it cost, nor will it make its way to global markets. It is possible this phone will remain exclusive to China, even though that would be a shame.
