This year, Samsung wants to expand the reach of its foldable phones to a wider audience. In line with this, the company will launch a Galaxy Z Flip FE with a more affordable price tag than the main Z Flip devices. Reports have revealed some of its tech specs, but there was still a lot left to be known. That said, a new leak has revealed several key details about the Galaxy Z Flip FE’s specs.

The Galaxy Z Flip FE will have a more attractive price than the Z Flip 7, but it won’t be a mid-ranger. It will take the same approach as the Galaxy S FE models, offering some key flagship features at a lower price. For reference, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 cost $1,099.99 at launch in the US. For now, it is unknown how much cheaper the FE model will be compared to its more expensive sibling.

Leaked details of the Galaxy Z Flip FE: same display, hinge, and durability as the Z Flip 6

That said, tipster PandaFlash has shared a ton of details about a prototype of the Galaxy Z Flip FE. Previous leaks claimed that the phone will boast the same display technology as the current Galaxy Z Flip 6. The latest leak reaffirms this by saying that the FE model will have both the same display and the same UTG protector. That means it could offer a 120Hz display with up to 2600 nits of peak brightness. However, Samsung is testing it with a peak brightness of around 1900 nits.

The phone will even inherit the hinge design of the Z Flip 6, according to the X/Twitter post. Samsung may implement its flat Armor Aluminum Frame for added durability. The rear area of the device could be covered by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It could also boast “water sealing,” but there are no specific details about IP rating.

The leak mentions an “Exynos processor,” although we already know it will be the Exynos 2500 thanks to company executives. It’s still possible that Samsung will implement a slightly downgraded version. The firm did something similar on the Galaxy S24 FE using an Exynos 2400e chip. That’s slightly less powerful than the Exynos 2400. In fact, the report says that some Galaxy AI features of the Z Flip 7 won’t be available due to “NPU limitations.” So, the NPU could be one of the aspects downgraded on a potential Exynos 2500e chip.

It could also share the front camera and speakers with the Z Flip 6

The front camera and speakers could be other components shared with the Galaxy Z Flip 6. There may be a 50 MP main camera, although there are no details on the complementary sensor yet. The ProVisual Engine could be present on the Galaxy Z Flip FE to boost photo quality. The leaked spec list also includes Wi-Fi 6E and 25W wired charging.

As in previous years, Samsung is expected to hold its second Unpacked event of the year in July or August. In addition to the Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip FE, the company could launch a Z Fold SE 2 and its first tri-fold device.
