Samsung has upgraded the majority of its devices to the August 2024 Android security levels in the past few weeks. Now, the tech giant is all set to roll out the September 2024 security update for its compatible phones and tablets. Ahead of the roll-out, Samsung has revealed details of the September 2024 security update for its products.

As expected, this month’s security update will offer several fixes for various vulnerabilities. Just like the August Android patch, the September 2024 security update is critical for keeping your Samsung phone/tablet safe. Samsung posted details of the new update soon after Google started rolling it out for the Pixel phones a few days ago.

Samsung’s September 2024 Security update fixes as many as 67 security issues

As per the official changelog, Samsung’s September 2024 security update brings fixes for as many as 67 security issues. The new firmware addresses one critical and 43 high-level security vulnerabilities in Samsung phones and tablets. Some of these issues were also fixed in the August update.

Apart from Google’s fixes, Samsung has also added fixes for 23 security vulnerabilities found on its products. The fixes offered by Samsung cover many features like My Files, Theme Center, One UI Home, Knox, and Dex. Most vulnerabilities related to these features are mostly moderate-level security issues.

Samsung’s newest Galaxy S and Fold series phones could get the update first

Samsung hasn’t yet announced when it will begin the rollout of the September 2024 security update for its devices. Just like the August update, this month’s firmware is also expected to hit the Galaxy S and Fold series flagships first. We can expect the Galaxy S23 and S24 series phones will get it first.

Soon after, the company’s latest foldable handsets, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 could get the latest update. There’s a possibility that some Samsung devices will get the September patch as part of the One UI 6.1.1 update. The brand will also update its mid-range and entry-level Galaxy phones and tablets by the end of September.
