CES 2025 is picking up the pace, with many companies showing off the best they have. We have already seen some of the high-end laptops, TVs, innovative smart home products, and more. But the list doesn’t end there. If you are looking for e-bikes, there is something new for you. Segway, a renowned name in the micro-mobility market, announced two new e-bikes at CES 2025. They are the Xyber and the Xafari.
Segway showcased two new e-bikes at CES 2025, one of which has a top speed of 35 mph
If you look at the Segway Xyber for the very first time, you might think of it as a dirtbike, although it’s not. The specifications of the Xyber are the real deal here, despite it being an e-bike. Firstly, the Xyber comes with 20-inch x 5-inch chunky tires and a smart TFT display that automatically adjusts brightness for better visibility.
Per the company, it features up to 175 Nm torque and up to 6,000 watts of peak power. What’s more interesting is that you can get a maximum speed of up to 35 miles per hour with dual batteries. The Xyber has three throttle modes – Eco, Sport, and Race. When the e-bike is in Race mode, it can go from 0 to 20 miles per hour in a mere 2.7 seconds; that’s what Segway says.
You can ride on this e-bike for 112 miles on a single charge. If you still want a pedal to keep up with your health goals, there’s one for you. Not to forget, you’re also getting twelve different pedal-assists with the Xyber. If you are curious about the price, the Xyber will set you back $2,999.99.
All that said, the Xyber is not road-legal, which is why the company says, it shouldn’t be used on public roads or bike paths. Don’t worry, Segway says that a road-legal model will debut in the spring or summer of this year.
The Xafari is relatively more affordable but is just as good as the Xyber
Next, you have the Segway Xafari, an e-bike that’s more suitable for all kinds of riders. The Xafari comes with 26-inch x 3-inch tires and also has a 2.4-inch TFT display. The seat height, stem, and handlebar are easily adjustable, ensuring comfort while riding this e-bike.
Speaking of specifications, the Xafari comes with a 750W hub motor with 80 Nm torque and a 936 Wh battery, which gives up to 88 miles range. It’s worth noting that you can also charge your phone using the USB port available on this e-bike. As far as pricing is concerned, Segway’s Xafari is priced at $2,399.99.
Moving on, both e-bikes share some common features, including Segway’s Intelligent Ride System. You’ll also find smart tech features like the AirLock, which powers them off and warns the user with a sound alarm when an unauthorized user tries to access it. That’s not all, you can remotely control both the Xyber and the Xafari. Moreover, these are also compatible with Apple Find My Network and Segway GPS.
