Following a number of other Samsung devices over the last month or so, the Galaxy Tab S8 series started getting One UI 7 last week. This Android 15-based update started to roll out in Korea back then, however. It is now rolling out to these tablets globally.

One UI 7 is now rolling out to the Galaxy Tab S8, globally

Users across the globe, including the US and Europe, are getting the update as well. You had to wait for around a week, but the update will land shortly, if it hasn’t already. As per usual, this is a staged rollout, so it may take a couple of days.

The company is rolling out the firmware version X700XXU9DYDC to these tablets across the globe. This update does come with the April 2025 security patch, in case you were wondering.

As many of you know by now, One UI 7 is a huge update for the company. It does bring an overhauled UI to the table. It’s the biggest change, looks-wise, in years. The company’s first-party apps have also seen some design changes.

Samsung improved customization & personalization in this update

Samsung has also improved the customization and personalization options with One UI 7. Animations have received a boost as well, while some new Galaxy AI features are included. On top of that, the Now Bar that rolled out to the company’s phones with One UI 7 should also make an appearance. We cannot guarantee that, however.

On top of the changes that One UI 7 itself brings, all the major underlying changes from Android 15 are also included here, of course. This update is, after all, based on Google’s Android 15 build.

Do expect this update file to be quite hefty. So if you don’t have plenty of mobile data to spare, being connected to WiFi may be the best ideal before you kick off the download.
