Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 series tomorrow (January 22) during the first Unpacked event of 2025. The leaks have revealed many key details about the tech specs and new features that the devices will bring. Now, the latest report shows that the Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup will boast a new and exclusive display technology called “ProScaler.”

The Galaxy S25 series will debut the Samsung ProScaler display tech

Samsung will offer improved displays on the Galaxy S25 series, both on the hardware and software level. Regarding the latter, evleaks shared a leaked promotional image that confirms the existence of ProScaler. The picture says that the technology allows what you see on your device’s screen to feel “lifelike.” It enables “sharper visuals and brighter colors,” the marketing material adds.

Basically, ProScaler is a real-time image quality enhancement technology. We’ll have to wait for tomorrow’s event to have more details on how it will work. It would not be strange if it is one of those new AI-powered technologies that Samsung is implementing. Ice Universe, another reliable leaker, highlighted ProScaler as a “Samsung-unique technology,” although he didn’t offer any further details. The same tipster claimed in previous leaks that the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display will have noticeable quality improvements.

Samsung’s ProScaler screen technology will only work if you set the phone’s screen to QHD+ resolution. That is, there will be no support for WQHD+ mode, at least at first. The evleaks screenshot shows a comparison between the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s displays—without and with ProScaler enabled, respectively. It’s possible that the technology will be available on all of the brand’s next-gen mobile flagships.

Samsung will not use its newest display technology

According to reports, the Galaxy S25 series will use Dynamic AMOLED LTPO displays, with Samsung implementing M13 (Plus), an upgraded version of the M13 display material. However, for unknown reasons, the company has not gone with the more modern M14. Samsung has already supplied M14-based AMOLED displays to companies like Google and Apple for the Pixel 9 and iPhone 16 series.

Leaks have revealed that the Galaxy S25 devices will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow, with shipments beginning in February.
